Meditating Maitreya

In the practice of zen
there is no need for a special place.
Once the heat of the ego is put out,
naturally there is a sense of well-being.

I can't help it, but I do have some special places.
My work is one.
I don't identify with my work (yet)
and I hope I'll never do.
You see, according to my ontology that's not a good thing.
But I hope I can contribute with something important,
I hope I can make a difference, a better difference,
and I hope that I'll share this kind of passion
I now feel for my work and task at hand,
for the rest of my research period.

If I could (some of you would ask what's stopping me)
I would meditate all days long for the rest of my life.
To really take the meditation seriously.
But hey - a woman's gotta make a living also.
Feed her cat and stuff.
Earn money so she can go to Rome ;-)

So..I guess i'll be stuck at my precious work.
